Machines have sources of power and a system which enables the transmission of power. Overhead lines are associated with electrical power transmission and they are known as the most economic ways of transferring huge quantities of power from one place to another. Transmission of power is performed underground too by high voltage lines and this is often found in busy urban places.

Wireless power transmission is another form of electrical transmission. Wave guides can carry electromagnetic fields and radio waves by electromagnetic wave change.
